As you type you will not see the password being printed out on the screen. As the bios loads prior to Windows 10 (and part of the hardware) this could result in an unrecoverable system. The bios is part of the motherboard and not Windows 10 and if power is disrupted then there is a chance the system will not start again. You will be asked to put in your password. The manufacturer (motherboard or system) always states to update the bios with caution. You now need to open a terminal and run the command.
